I'm Sandy-
Chris and I have been friends for over 15 years. We met at a trade show in Orlando, Florida when my business was brand new and I was a babe in the woods. I was also alone at my first trade show. Chris overheard me talking to the DoFix rep about that crazy iron and intriguing bonding tapes. Walking away, she tugged my sleeve, gave me her card, and invited me into her world of knowledge and friendship. And as they say - "The rest is History."

I know plenty of you have had a similar experience with Chris, she is the most giving person I have ever met. She's my backdoor friend- you know the kind- no make-up required- no pretenses either.

Watts Up- Tips from Chris

What's the shmata?
Shmata is Yiddish for "scrap piece of cloth." If you've noticed, Chris sews onto the cloth when she finishes a seam and then leaves it until she begins a new seam. Why?

Two reasons- First, the needle is less likely to come unthreaded between seams because it remains attached. Secondly, the project stays neat and tidy, much less clean-up needed.

The bonus with this technique is that it saves a bunch of thread.
